Road Trip Day 6 - Whitehorse, Kluane Lake, back in the USA

We drove through almost the rest of Canada on Thursday, July 20. We started out the day on a metal grate bridge, which was a bit scary. We were super high up above a river, we were towing a trailer of our own, and there were mammoth machinery trucks flying past us going the other direction. We weren't sure the bridge was made for that kind of weight, but the views were spectacular!

We headed up to Whitehorse and then on to Haines Junction where we made the official turn toward Anchorage and the Peninsula on the Alaska Highway and what seemed like our fiftieth stop for gas!

Just past Haines Junction, we discovered Kluane Lake, where we had lunch on the beach with the dogs. It was gorgeous!!! And massive! Another vacation spot for later.

Toward the end of the day, we crossed back over the border and back into America and officially into Alaska!

We got a good look at the Wrangell Mountains on our way to Tok.

Because we were all getting a little tired of being on the road, we pushed through and drove the latest that we had driven the whole way to make it to Glenallen. We all wanted it to be our last night on the road. It was a long day but well worth it in the end.
